This my plane.  It's a much modified 1929 Heath Parasol Mod V.  It was built in 1984 by Earnest Moser and flies on a Continental A65-8.  Cruise is 90 mph at 2150 rpm on 4 gal/hr.
Welcome to my web page here at taildraggers.com. Even though I've been flying for 25 years, this is my first taildragger.  It's also my first open cockpit and first stick controlled plane, so needless to say there was some time spent getting used to it.  But now, I wouldn't have it any other way.  This is grass roots flying, the way it all started.  I still fly a 172 occasionally, just to keep proficient, but for fun, I fly the Heath. Since I live in the country,(make that the sticks), I can legally fly any altitude I feel safe. So I frequently find myself flying 300-400 AGL where I can wave at the kids playing in their yards or the farmers on their tractors.  I nearly always get an enthusiastic wave back. These really are "friendly skies", you know.
