I must strike a blow for the low and mid wing composite types.  This is a photo of my Ultrabat VH ANT built in 1986.  The pilot carrying out the DI is George Markey, the aircraft's co-designer and builder.  I purchased it from him a couple of years ago.  George is 75 and jumps around and about like a 12 year old.
The “ant” is the prototype Ultrabat a fully aerobatic aircraft.

These are some of the details.

Stall clean.........55 Knots
With flap............45 or less.
Manoeuvring.......120
Turb. Pen.......... 140 or more.
VNE.................. 181
VD....................  195.
G..ult.................  +/-16
G..limit...............  +/-8
Tank cap...............6 imp gallons.
Engine ............Rotax 583.

George Markey’s further remarks:-

"Burns about 4.5g/hr @ 6000 rpm (100 Kts)
Flat out straight and level 120 Kts.
Will loop from straight and level.
Roll rate 360deg/sec @ 120 Kts.
Snap roll @ 100Kts is abt 720 deg/sec.
The Bat is NOT an ultralight, so dont call it one;  it is a serious unlimited aerobatic aircraft, with exceptionally low acquisition and running costs;  delightfully light on the controls and very forgiving to fly.  Lands itself like a pussycat.  It is the only one of its kind in the world."
