Walter Extra introduced the Extra 300/200 in 1996. The 200 is a little smaller then the Extra 300L, and is powered by a 200HP, rather then a 300HP Lycoming engine. It also uses the same wing and tail structure as the EA300/S. It was considerably less expensive, at $170,000 (1996 new), versus the 300L's price of $235,000 (1996 new). It's relatively docile enough plane to learn aerobatics with (I know!!). At lower speeds, the performance is similar to the Decathalon. When opened up though, it is a performer, and I think that it is similar to the Pitts S-2B (the Pitts has a 60HP edge, but the aerodynamic and clean design makes it comparable.. this was based on a comment by a S-2B owner that flew with me). It also has adjustable rudder pedals. Also it has been certified by the FAA to 10G's! I bought my plane in April, 2002 from Southeast Aerosport in St. Augustine (see http://www.aerosport.com/index.htm).
