Life is indeed and arc. I learned to fly in 1961 in J-3 Cub, when I was living on the island of Curacao, in the Netherlands Antilles. Since then, I've owned and flown a 152, 172, 177, 182, and an S-35 v-tail Bonanza. I flew, (and loved) that Bonanza for 14 years until I retired and moved to Sanibel, FL. The need for speed grew less and less, and the need for fun grew more and more. So, Bonanza goes, (I miss her), and my new tail draggin' partner comes along. I've grown to love her too, and I've begun to re-discover things like rudder pedals and cross wind landings. I still do a bit of travelling, so 51398 now has a Garmin 430, and an S-Tec 50 autopilot. Probably overkill, but lots of fun. The only thing missing is short field and climb performance. Maybe I'll save up and do the 150 h.p. conversion. Not this year though.
